DJ Samantha XO is an international DJ living in Miami. She has been recognized as Florida’s Sexiest DJ, as well as recently finished in the world rankings in 2021 as #32 in America and 41 in North America by DJane Magazine Top 100 Best Female DJs in the world. Now she has started off the new year extremely fast as one of the best female newcomers as her current 2022 rankings and standing as we speak are #1 in America & North America and #4 in the world.

Her love of music started with alternative music in the 80s, such as Siouxsi and the Banshees, Depeche Mode, Nitzer Ebb, New Order, The Cure, The Smiths, and R.E.M to name a few. As a teenager, she would sneak out of her home with her fake ID while her parents were sleeping and go to the local underground gay club. They only played what was then referred to as “new wave, alternative music”. Here began her lifelong love and obsession with electronic music, nightclubs, outright hedonism, and the pursuit of pleasure of the senses.
After 2 years of college, she decided to quit and leave her relatively small midwestern town and head to Los Angeles for an adventure of her life. Although the electronic dance music scene was not robust in LA at this time, she found and frequented a popular lesbian club that only played dance, house music. Her love of electronic music, partying and nightlife continued unabated. Desiring a change of scenery and more sophisticated house music, on the recommendation of many, she eventually moved to Miami in 2000. Moving to Miami shaped and influenced her love for electronic music, specifically house music infused with female vocals and deep, ethereal, otherworldly sounds. Miami being the hotspot and multicultural mecca that it was at the time influenced her sense of style and love of sensual fashion. Spending at least 4 nights a week in the south beach and downtown Miami club scene going to nightclubs such as Crobar, BED, Opium, Tantra, and SPACE. She lived a full-time party girl life, often traveling between Miami, NYC, Las Vegas, LA, and Ibiza.
She surrounded herself with glamour, models, celebrities, and lots of clubbing as well as lots of recreational Ecstasy use, all the while following DJ’s to different venues. Some of her favorites were (and still are) Tiesto, Ferry Corsten, and Armin Van Buren as well as Miami local DJ’s such as Oscar G and Roger Sanchez, etc. March of every year was spent at Winter Music Conference and Ultra Music Fest. During this time, she was also introduced to parties such as the Skin Party where underground sex, drugs, and electronic music were commonplace and all came together in an alluring, lively, and sophisticated sensual pleasure-filled atmosphere. In the following years, she traveled throughout Europe living in the UK, Spain, and China all the while learning to DJ and eventually getting booked by several venues in Europe and Asia. After eventually moving back to the USA she continued working and perfecting her craft.

She was, and still is to this day, deeply influenced and motivated to DJ due to these varied and colorful life experiences. As she makes special guest DJ radio appearances on Miami’s only dance & house music radio station, Revolution 93.5 FM. Her mission and goal are to recreate some of the exotic, sensory-filled atmospheres that she had experienced years earlier filled with beautiful people (free to express themselves in any way they see fit), provide exquisite music, and of course, stunning venues in which to dance and socialize. She was eventually approached to collaborate with celebrity event producer Michael Venezuela to start ElegantlyWastedEvents.com which is a members-only lifestyle brand that creates sexy DJ fueled pop-up events throughout the US, Mexico, and the Caribbean in various locations: Hotels, Beaches, Nightclubs, Beach Clubs, Yachts Mansions, and Penthouses for select lifestyle couples and sexy single women.
Through DJ’ing she aspires to create a beautiful world on the dance floor “where everyone is happy, everyone is singing, and everyone is dancing” – a world filled with sexy house music, fashion, love, and dancing- the ultimate escape from “reality”.

• Xcitement asked Samantha, what is your biggest piece of advice that you can give to a woman looking to start DJing?

• “Don’t ever give up! Don’t ever stop trying! Don’t ever let someone tell you, you can’t do that! And never stop dancing! Surround yourself with people who say, “you can” and that motivates you unconditionally even if they don’t understand. You understand within yourself what you must do to make it happen! Theirs only one you and be the best version you can be! Ladies, if you take one thing out of this, take this, and remember this for the rest of your life, “Pussy is undefeated, so mentally get out of your own way!” Samantha XO
